Despite our best efforts, our test drive happened in the rain and immediately put the rain performance of the RE002 to the test. You can feel instantly the better performance of these tyres in the rain as there wasn’t as much slip when compared to a non-performance rubber.

In the dry, the RE002 continued to impress. Sharp steering response is better communicated with the new tyre. The new tyre benefits greatly from the new Centre Rib design that replaces the tyre’s original centre groove wall.

Pushing the tyre further in the corner only impresses more. The tyres easily maintain a tight turn on the limit without slipping while the side wall maintained its rigidity.

Although envisioned as a performance tyre, the ride comfort wasn’t severely affected by the harder rubber compound.

All in all, the RE002 proves to be a true street performance tyre that is equally competent both in the dry and wet with no compromises in daily drivability and comfort.
