This year marks two important celebrations for Bosch – The company’s 125th anniversary, as well as the 150th anniversary of its founder Robert Bosch’s birthday. For the past 125 years, Bosch has been synonymous with innovative technology and ground-breaking developments that have revolutionised the world.

Ever since its beginning, Bosch has forged its reputation through a variety of highly successful automotive products including the magneto ignition device, Bosch spark plug, Bosch automotive lighting system and ABS brake. At each stage, the products Bosch launched were ahead of their time in terms of performance, ease of use, safety and environmental compatibility.

Bosch has been present in Singapore since 1923. Today, the country is home to the Southeast Asia regional headquarter of Bosch, with its new building inaugurated in May 2010. Singapore is also the Asia Pacific hub for Bosch’s Corporate Research and Advance Engineering, Corporate Information Technology, Automotive Aftermarket, Security Systems and Bosch Software Innovations.

Bosch in Singapore is active in diverse fields of R&D activities such as participation in a test bed for modern diesel cars, development of new IT solutions and software, research in organic photovoltaic, as a well as in e-mobility.

International market leadership through innovation and quality, Bosch is a world-renown supplier of automotive technology. Its innovative leadership led it to conceive vehicle safety systems such as the ABS in 1978 and the ESP in 1995. Since their invention, these two technologies have helped to significantly improve road safety and reduce the number of road deaths.

Today, Bosch is also the global market leader in hand-held electric power tools and power tool accessories, as well as a recognized specialist in drive and control technologies ranging from Ferris wheels, motion simulation rides and roller coaster launch systems to large-scale gearboxes for wind turbines.
