Best 7-seaters for Hari Raya Visiting (or any other festivities)
Sometimes, don’t you wish that you had a bigger car? Because a family of five can’t squeeze into a grab! Hari Raya is just round the corner and some of us may have been invited to our friends’ home to participate in the festivities. There will always be lots of delicious food and it is the time to catch up with one another.

For the Muslims, they wake up early, visit the mosque to thank God for the many blessings that he has bestowed upon them. They also have to ask for forgiveness from their elders. Dressed in their best, they often visit family and friends to celebrate the end of the fasting month and dig into the delicious home-cooked food!
Because this is also a period where you get together with your families, sometimes having a sedan is insufficient for house visitations. As such, perhaps consider these 7-seaters to ferry your family and even friends around during the festivities.
That being said, even for non-Muslims and for other occasions, a 7-seater does come in handy to carpool and to store all your barang barang for a road trip during the June holidays!
Despite its compact-size, the Volkswagen Touran is a family favourite that is able to ferry up to 7 people (including the driver). The third compartment is easily accessible as the middle tier seats can be tilted forward and upward. Should one not need all 7 seats, the boot can reach up to 1,857 litres with the rear and middle row folded down. Besides the boot space, the Touran has about 40 storage pockets all around its interior so that you or your family can store essential items such as tissues, wet wipes, car cleaning equipment, or even stow away some green packets!

I’ve been seeing so many of them on the road lately! The Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is a stylish rival (exterior and interior) to the Volkswagen Touran. Unlike the boxy appearance of the Touran, the Picasso has quirky rounded edges that just look less like a typical MPV. The new model of the Picasso also extends the legroom for passengers in both the second and third rows. Other upgrades included better steering and an improved infotainment system to impress your passengers.

The front view of the Kia Sorento looks domineering yet stylish. This car is great for parties of 5, with the occasional plus 2. One of the best features of the Sorento include the technology that allows the left wing mirror to edge slightly downwards, giving you a better view of the road as you reverse into your lot. Should parking still be a challenge, there’s also the Smart Parking Assist that will help you steer the vehicle into your lots – be it perpendicular or parallel lots. This means more time for feasting at your families’ or friends’ place!

The Land Rover Discovery is the car for those wanting to go off roads during road trips! It has the ability to cope with anything nature throws at it. What also interests us is its amazing torque from the 3.0 turbocharged diesel V6 engine. The Discovery has a versatile styling that grants sufficient space for seven people. The Intelligent Seat technology allows you to electrically control the fold of the middle and third row seats from the driver’s seat, or from the boot, which makes entrance for passengers a lot easier. The only downside? It’s hefty price-tag. But hey, for those who can, why not?

The additional two seats of the 5008 as well as its stylish SUV appearance with its chrome trimmings help to elevate the pug as an expensive-looking vehicle. For the passengers on the middle row, they’ll enjoy individually adjustable seats; perfect should you need more space for your food baby. The third row’s legroom has also increased as compared to their previous iteration by a slight 24mm. The boot space is a generous 780 litres with the rear seats folded flat. Should you want more space, you could even remove the rear seats!
What we liked most is the fact that the pug offers flexible seats that brings you and your family to the next destination comfortably. Their ergonomic seat, especially for the driver, is a major plus point!

When you talk about 7-seater cars, you can’t avoid mentioning the good ol’ Honda Odyssey. The 2018 Odyssey may not look much different from its predecessors but it is now embellished with a downswept crease, to make it look less like a minivan. This new facelift model now allows the middle section to be positioned further forward to allow front passengers to reach their child sitting right in the second row. Great for first time mummies and daddies heading for Hari Raya Visitations. Access to the third row is also more accessible with their Magic Slide seats that allow the outboard seats to be slid to the middle position.
