The Cerato Forte represents the new standard in its segment, raising the benchmark for how a mid-sized sedan should look and perform.

It all starts with design. The Cerato Forte is the first new Kia model to sport the "Schreyer line", a front grille design based on a representation of a tiger's roaring countenance, conceptualised by Kia's Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer. "The all-new Cerato Forte is a corporate statement to the motoring world that Kia is a brand underpinned by quality and reliability," says Mr Schreyer. "On top of that comes the emotional element of distinctive design."

Kia's new design DNA is fully embodied by the Cerato Forte. A short front overhang imparts a bold, sporty image, with understated sculpting along the side creating a dynamic profile. The long 2,650mm wheelbase not only gives a balanced stance, it also improves ride comfort and maximises cabin space.

Two outstandingly efficient DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engines are available - the 124ps 1.6-litre and 156ps 2.0-litre, both of lightweight all-aluminium construction. Kia's CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing) system gives maximum power while reducing fuel usage and emissions at the same time. With an official consumption figure of 6.6L/100km (15.2km/L) in the combined driving cycle (1.6-litre manual), the Cerato Forte is one of the most economical cars in its class. An automatic gearbox with sports mode sequential manual shifting is optional on both the 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre models.

The Cerato Forte's interior further underlines Kia's commitment to premium design and quality. The cabin is harmoniously designed throughout, creating a sense of comfort and high value everyone can enjoy. The ergonomics reflect this as well, with all controls placed within reach for easy operation.

Kia has equipped the Cerato Forte with the latest-generation features to meet the demands of discerning drivers. All versions come with twin airbags, anti-lock brakes, automatic headlamps and a fully integrated audio system with iPod connectivity and steering wheel remote controls as standard.

The SX models are the first in this segment to have factory-fitted 17-inch alloy wheels and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) as standard items. Other unique features for this class of car include side and curtain airbags (on the 2.0 SX), and a Supervision instrument cluster with an integrated trip computer and rear parking assist display.

Comprehensive attention to detail makes the Cerato Forte a class-leader in cabin quietness. Underbody engine covers and wheel deflectors improve aerodynamic performance, while reinforced subframes and improved door seals dramatically cut vibration and wind noise.

"We managed to significantly raise Kia's profile and image through our recent branding campaign, and the launch of the all-new Cerato Forte represents another big step forward for Kia," says Chin Kee Min, Senior Manager for Kia Operations at Cycle & Carriage Kia Pte Ltd.

"The Cerato Forte matches or betters the established segment leaders in all important aspects, particularly in styling, engine performance, fuel economy, build quality, equipment level and safety. We are confident that customers will agree once they view and test drive the car."
