What we like:
pros
Mature exterior should appeal to a wider audience
pros
typical German quality still present
pros
twincharged powerplant and 7-speed DSG adds more driving fun.
What we dislike:
cons
Tyres that doesn't do justice to its capability
cons
tyre noise
cons
lots of parts carried forward from its predecessor

price.

With that $93k price tag, the Golf won't come across as "cheap" to most as for that amount of money, you can get a full-sized Honda Accord 2.0 sedan (with some spare change too). But think of it this way - in the Golf, you get a well-engineered premium hatchback with a high level of practicality. Lets not forget the endless driving fun too.

Even if you've just outgrown the hot-hatch phase, the Golf could be your perfect candidate.

Last I checked, the Golf is getting strong response from local buyers - the first two shipments have all been spoken for. And like them, this new Golf could be my next car - when I finally need two more doors, and more room at the rear that is...
