Toyota Vios Review: Proving Grounds

Toyota Vios Review: Proving Grounds

Toyota is renowned for their cars having good fuel economy. But how exactly does the new Vios fare with a heavier body and the same 1 NZ-FE engine?

You must be eager to know how the Vios fared in our Oneshift.com fuel efficiency test and this is what we learned - the Vios travelled a total of 142.8 kilometers on 10.008 litres of Caltex Silver, resulting in an average of 14.27 kilometers for every litre of petrol consumed.

We're truly amazed...On paper, the Vios is rated at 16km per litre, and a result of 14.27 km per litre seems to fall short on that promise from Toyota. But it remains respectable still, considering the non-conservative driving pattern.

We love the new Vios because it performs well in the city, is a very comfortable cruiser on the expressway and most of all, we love the new Vios for showing us that this car is more than ready to continue the legacy of being one of the most economical cars in Singapore...

The Ed would like to thank Borneo Motors for kindly loaning us the Toyota Vios 1.5 (A) test car, and Caltex for kindly sponsoring us the Silver with Techron (95 RON) petrol. Without their kind support, we won't be able to go through hours of erratic traffic pattern just to bring this story to you, our dear readers.
