When the Skoda Enyaq Coupe came to the Singapore Motorshow this year, it created quite a stir - so much so that it made my list of picks from the show.

While what I’m driving is its more conventional SUV cousin, I’m still curious how it would fare - initial impressions suggest that the Enyaq is the better packaged option vis-a-vis the VW ID.4.

Well, let’s dig right in.

Is the Škoda Enyaq a luxury car?
In Singapore’s context, any car is a luxury - but the Enyaq definitely feels luxurious with its Scandinavian-inspired interior. It’s warm and fuzzy in a way that the ID.4 never will be, strangely enough. The fact that there is more interior room (perceived or otherwise) and boot space helps make the Enyaq feel like it has more real estate. The huge infotainment screen is easy to use and very crisp, too.

Is the Skoda Enyaq more luxurious than the VW ID.4?
A more pointed question to the one above. Short answer, yes. The interior helps, as does the panoramic sunroof and the rear blinds.

It also has conventional window buttons on the driver's door to control the rear windows - thank heavens!

How does the Škoda Enyaq drive?
It’s very quiet and does very well on the highway. Low speed ride is better than in the ID.4 but it is still too stiff. Nonetheless, it is supremely practical and would probably appeal to those already used to Skoda’s wonderful quirks. Like the little slots in the middle console to store coins (yes, we kid you not), to the useful hooks in the boot and the detachable cupholders in the middle of the rear seat.

There’s a surprising amount of power, while range is average. It’s not as sporty as the ID.4 for sure, but it is better for it.

How much is the Škoda Enyaq?
The thing is, we don’t know yet. We will know the definite price next year!

Is the Škoda Enyaq fully electric?
Why yes, of course, and it’s Skoda’s first EV!
