Renault Clio 1.6 Review: The cool hatch

Renault quietly brought in the facelifted version of its small car, the Clio and we decided to give it a try. After all, it's competing in a rather lucrative market segment, especially at a time like now where downsizing is a trend. How does it perform?

should be given wider tyres to fill the arches.

Most cars either (a) go fast, (b) sip fuel or (c) just look good. Some can achieve more, while some achieve none at all. The Clio is definitely better looking than your average car, it ticks being a dinosaur juice sipper (we averaged 13km/L after a whole day of driving) and it can really zip about.

To put it blatantly, the Clio is a rather unique proposition... In fact, it's a little "weird", a little French, and I like it. Sure beats driving a common Japanese hatchback.
