Porsche Macan S 3.0 V6 Review: Cayenne mini-me

What we like:
pros
Distinctive Porsche design that sets it apart from other SUVs. Versatile handling that will cater to the dynamic driver while it remains comfortable enough for the missus.
What we dislike:
cons
None.

Our mix of highway and city driving meant we had a chance to see how the chassis reacted to varying road conditions. Around town and with comfort mode selected, the Macan handled the uneven and sometimes rough surface of Taiwanese tarmac well.

Bumps were quite often polished off effectively by the dampers with very little discomfort to the passengers. On the highway the Macan reflected the same comfort even at speeds up to 140kmh. It offered supreme comfort when munching up the miles of tarmac with excellent control in the dampers. Keeping in mind that the dampers were being tested on Taiwanese tarmacs, the Macan would be even more impressive on our baby smooth local tarmac.

Conclusion

Porsche claims the Macan to be every bit a sports car as their two door coupes despite its SUV dimensions. And they aren’t wrong. The Stuttgart bred SUV is truly one of the most dynamic and versatile SUVs we’ve driven lately.

With more than a 100 orders already taken up with the local distributor, the new Macan is set to give Porsche the volume it needs to continue making the 911 well into the future.
