With an industry that’s ever more focused on reducing its carbon footprint, is it still possible to have ‘fun’ in a car of the modern age?

What we like:
pros
A true example of guilt-free motoring pleasure for the 21st century. Supercar good looks without the price tag.
What we dislike:
cons
It’s a car of the future! What’s not to like?

The driver gets a techy high res screen for an instrument panel and shows all the essential stats in crisp clarity and detail. In normal driving modes, the screen has a fresh blue theme. Put it in sport mode and it changes to scarlet red. Like most performance cars, the laughable boot space is the humourous nod its designers have given to practicality. Situated just behind the engine also means this space gets pretty hot after awhile which probably isn't a good place for the butter.

With a claimed fuel economy figure of 47.6km/L, the BMW i8 is the best example of guilt-free motoring for the 21st century car nut. And with a carbon emissions of just 49g/km, it is well within the $20,000 band (under 100g/km) for CEVS rebate.

On the road, the i8 receives supercar stardom without the hefty price tag of one. It is guilt-free not just for its low carbon footprint but for your wallet as well.
