You'll have every conceivable luxury kit at your disposal in the S5 while many in the Merc are cost options. Standard on the S5 Cabriolet is sat nav, cruise control, electric adjustments for the front seats, bi-Xenon and the Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with SD card readers, a hard disk and DAB among other kit.

It's a tough choice between these two - the Mercedes E350 Cabriolet feels more complete, more sophisticated and is better engineered as a topless model. The Audi though, is significantly cheaper (roughly $18k), is better equipped and has the better engine. The Merc will be the perfect car if you're looking for a well thought out four-seater convertible while the Audi is more suitable for some one with a more racy nature who wants more performance.
