Maserati GranCabrio 4.7 Review: Italy's next topless model

Only the Italians can give us a four seat convertible that looks and feels as evocative and passionate as the Maserati GranCabrio.

Overall build quality is excellent - in fact, the GranCabrio looks and feels better put together than earlier GranTurismo models that I've tried. Like the coupe, the GranCabrio offers two adequately proportioned seats at the rear with legroom just about sufficient for the average Asian man. Headroom with the roof up can be a bit tight though. The boot is a tad small due to the space taken up by the roof. As with the rest of the Maserati range, customization options for the GranCabrio are almost limitless.

Big four seater convertibles in the premium segment are limited to models like the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, Bentley Azure and Continental GTC, and the Ferrari California. All of the abovementioned models will set one back upwards of three quarters of a million bucks. The Maserati though offers almost as much drama and presence as these models but at a much lower price. Look or listen to it and you'll immediately know that this car has passion and emotion in its execution by the bucket loads.
