I started by saying that the X5 is slightly pointless (suddenly I’m reminded of a certain Clarkson’s words about cars of this nature) and is best for making a statement above all else. Sure, the car is plenty capable as far as performance goes, and is quite a lot more practical than even the limousine that is the 7 series, but that’s all just the tip of the iceberg considering how much of its true capabilities you never quite use.

That being said, the X5 embodies potential, the pinnacle of achievement in a car that’s able to handle the road and beyond. In much the same way as an accomplished businessman, everything from the inside out is measured and tailored, made of substance and exudes class. Sitting high up in the driving seat of the X5 is much the same as steering a large company; you get a commanding presence of the road and know exactly what’s up ahead so that you can plan your next move well in advance.

When you look at it from this perspective then, you’ll see how BMW made this car complement its target audience seamlessly. You can often tell a lot about a man from his car. The next time you see a BMW X5, think about that.
