Driving the car in ‘Dynamic’, you can feel how the extra weight (the weight difference between the petrol-only and Hybrid variant is a significant 205 kg) at the back somehow help even things out when taking corners hard and fast. Yes, you read that right – it handles better here.

The A6 Hybrid gets for itself an electric power steering; good for low speed but rather unsettling when driven at speeds, as the self-centering steering wheel feels overly artificial. Also, one can’t help but feel a tinge of torque-steer when you floor the accelerator off the junction, even when the traction control is left untouched.

The brakes can come across as overly-enthusiastic for some, needing some getting used to. But once that's done, you will realise how it is also one of the A6 Hybrid's strongest suit.

At this price tag and package, Audi’s A6 Hybrid smells like an upcoming success story in the executive hybrid sedan segment. Well it has its shortfalls, but when you look past that and just be impressed by its effortless performance, it makes sense to purchase this - over the "entry-level" 2.0 TFSI version even.
