What we like:
pros
Supercharger delivers 0-100 time of 5.9 seconds. Improved suspension and better ride quality.  That bulletproof interior...
What we dislike:
cons
That MMI interface (sigh). Overly light steering with very little feedback.

While the 2.0 TFSI model utilizes a multitronic CVT gearbox, the 3.0 TFSI quattro here utilizes a conventional torque converter type six-speed automatic, instead of the increasingly popular dual clutch transmission. The Tiptronic box is one smooth and discreet shifter, while a nice spread of ratios means it strikes a right compromise when it comes to aiding fuel economy and performance. It offers the obligatory “+/-“ manual mode, with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters for added convenience.

With the facelift, Audi has taken the liberty of tweaking the A6’s suspension to improve its handling and ride dynamics. The A6’s suspension certainly feels more sorted than before, with improved body control and a less choppy ride than the pre-facelift’s model.

The steering though, is still not one of the A6’s strengths as it is too light and doesn’t offer any substantial feel and feedback. With quattro all-wheel drive, the A6 feels stable and reassuring when driven hard – at the same time, traction out of corners is certainly not lacking. Despite riding on 18-inch wheels, the A6 rides admirably well, its suspension soaking road bumps with aplomb as it goes over them. This is one executive that definitely rides much better than the stiffly sprung BMW 5 Series.

The A6 has always been a worthwhile alternative to popular executives like the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The new model here might not look much different than before, but the new engine and the other changes underneath the sheet metal certainly gives the A6 the armory it needs to further convince buyers away from the usual suspects.
