Audi A5 Sportback 2.0 TFSI Quattro S-Tronic Review: Audi's Hybrid Theory
Nope, Audi has not yet done a Lexus to give us an electric-petrol hybrid but the A5 Sportback can certainly be considered a hybrid, but in another context obviously. We bring you the first ever local road test of the new super model from Ingolstadt.
The base 2.0 TFSI quattro here comes with a plethora of standard kit that includes bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, electrically adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, climate control and so on. An additional $27k or so will buy you the 3.2 FSI V6 with 265bhp and S-Tronic.
I didn't see the point of the A5 Sportback when Audi first announced it last year. Is this just another case of a car manufacturer creating a new niche variant derived from an existing model, charge a higher price for it and make bigger profits?
Well, I finally saw the point after spending a couple of days with the A5 Sportback. It looks stunning from every angle, even more so when placed next to an A4. It has a practical hatchback and big boot. It is well equipped and won't cost an arm and a leg more than an equivalent spec A4. I don't know about you but I reckon that this coupe/estate/saloon hybrid thing certainly works.
