A New Alpha for a Pulsar?

A New Alpha for a Pulsar?

We kept seeing it as such a common sight on our roads, but Singapore has not seen the Pulsar moniker for a number of years. Often adding to confusion of name plates, the Pulsar was even badged as a Sunny in some countries. This time round, the Pulsar is really a Pulsar (and a Tiida which is also a Latio in Nissan talk)… Enough of the confusion already! The Pulsar is a rather simple car for those who want a chic family hatch, with Japanese reliability built into its DNA.

The Pulsar does look better sculpted than a Golf, especially if you do like more bulbous styling. The fit and finish on the exterior is pretty good, but internally, the car does leave a little more to be desired.

Thanks to its frugal 1.2 litre turbocharged engine, mated to an efficient CVT transmission, the compact Nissan manages a combined 19.6Km/l, which is better than the 1.2 litre Golf’s 17.2Km/l.

In all, the practicality of the boot space and rear legroom is really the real draw of the car.
